I've liked the idea of replaying my games to see everything more with other games. I did appreciate all the little dialogue changes, the game is great with that in general, but I guess I was expecting some serious consequences towards the end and the lack thereof makes a replay less appealing because I could just youtube the missing scenes instead and pretend they all happened in that one go. Maybe I wouldn't have felt that way had I gone with Bea instead since Gregg is your best bud from the start. Personally I definitely gravitated towards Gregg, and I feel like I never really tried to patch things up with Bea, but I feel like the game sort of brushed over that. Yeah, I guess what it comes down to is that I would have liked to see some bigger differences in the main story from your hangout choices, I mean I felt like my choices should have had more of an effect. but some people like the idea of having to play twice to see everything, and some people don't. That and it just helps replayability in general (and agreed that the dream sequences negatively affect it). You really step into her shoes, in that sense. From big stuff like how you wind up affecting Gregg and Angus' relationship if you spend a lot of time with Gregg, to little stuff like how Bea loses her nerve to go to the party if you don't come with her.Īnd I like reading about stuff like how people who connect to Mae a lot gravitate toward Gregg because he brings joy to an otherwise depressingly realistic situation, or how people whose interests are piqued by the idea of rekindling an old friendship get sucker punched by spending time with Bea because it's not as easy as they thought it'd be. But I enjoy the choice for thematic reasons, and for how it affects the lives of the characters themselves. I can see feeling that way as to its effects on you specifically - other than your evenings being spent differently, the effects boil down to changing the content of some scenes toward the end.
